He was born in Bartın, in 1963. He graduated from Northfield Mount Hermon School (USA) High School in 1981 and from Boğaziçi University in 1985 with a degree in economics. He became chairman of the board of Directors of Işıklar Holding, which he entered in 1983, in 1990, and since 1990, he is the chairman of the board of Directors of all group companies, including Işıklar energy and Yapı Holding, which is affiliated to Işıklar holding.

He has studied Business Administration and graduated from Marmara University in 1988.

He has completed his high school education at Cambridge Academy in 1985.

In 1986, he became a member of the Board of Directors of Isiklar Holding A.S. and he became vice-chairman of Isiklar Holding A.S. in 1990, and from 1990 on, he has been vice chairman of all of the subsidiaries of Isiklar Holding A.S..

In 1999, he has become a member to Turkish Young Businessman Association. He has created the Istanbul Offshore Powerboating Club the same year and became the president of the club until 2013. He has served as the president of the National Authority for Turkey and head of many racing committees in the Union International Motonautique, World Powerboating Federation, member to IOC.

In 2001, he has received a diploma from International Olympics Committee Chairman Juan Antonio Samaranch for remarquable contribution to olympic sports.

He is fluent in French and English.
